NIC-IFC

Founded in 1909, the North-American Interfraternity Conference, Inc. (NIC) is the trade association representing 74 International and National Men's Fraternities.  The NIC serves to advocate the needs of its member fraternities through enrichment of the fraternity experience; advancement and growth of the fraternity community; and enhancement of the educational mission of the host institutions. An Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC) exists where two (2) or more member fraternities are established on a college campus. This affiliation with the NIC provides direct resources and services to IFC Officers and IFC Advisors to further the health and success of their respective fraternity communities. http://www.nicindy.org

National Pan-Hellenic Council

The National Pan-Hellenic Council, Incorporated (NPHC) is currently composed of nine (9) International Greek letter Sororities and Fraternities.  NPHC promotes interaction through forums, meetings and other mediums for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities and functions.  “Unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek letter collegiate fraternities and sororities, and to consider problems of mutual interest to its member organizations.” Currently, NPHC exists at Cleveland State as a city-wide chapter that includes other local colleges and universities.

National Panhellenic Conference (NPC)

The sororities at CSU are values-based organizations that all share the ideals of scholarship, service, leadership, and sisterhood. Our sororities strive to build better women and to add to the overall college experience. The National Panhellenic Conference here at CSU is currently made up national and local sororities, each different in their own light, and acts as the governing body that allows for more collaboration, education, & dedication.

Our Staff

Jill Courson Mahar, M.S.-Assistant Dean for Student Engagement: j.courson@csuohio.edu

Jill received her B.S. degree in psychology from Southern Arkansas where she joined Phi Mu Fraternity. She continued her studies at Oklahoma State University earning a Master's of Science in Counseling & Student Personnel. She joined the CSU community in January 2013 after having spent time in student affairs at both James Madison University and the University of Georgia.

 Veronica received her B.S. degree in Human Development and Family Studies from The Ohio State University. During her time at OSU joined Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. As she made the transition back to Cleveland she became more involved with the community through various organizations and community groups. She is currently working towards her Masters in Social Work here at CSU.
